A boy wizard named Harry.

Nope, not that Harry. Harry Dresden. He’s not exactly a boy anymore, but his childhood does play a large role in the stories. Rinda has a very convincing post about The Dresden Files books up at Planet Rinda.

I’ve enjoyed the TV show, but I haven’t read the books yet. I really should, I have no excuse. I’ve got the first few books, I just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet. I’m gonna have to keep an eye on that blog too. It’s brand new but comes out swinging. She seems like she knows what she’s doin’ over there. I could probably take lessons from her.

If you’re unfamiliar with Harry Dresden here’s a short rundown. Harry is a wizard with a dark past living in Chicago. The police, both normal and magical, believe he killed his uncle. He did, but his uncle was a slime ball and the cops have got no evidence. What’s a suspicious character like that supposed to do? Work for the cops of course. His door says wizard for hire, but he usually winds up doing detective work.

It’s a good thing he is a wizard, and a good one at that, because there are some really nasty surprises that pop up in his cases. With the help of a tough as nails lady cop named Murphy and an undead necromancer named Bob, he gets the job done. Well, hopefully he gets the job done, he’s got bills to pay.

I enjoyed The Dresden Files on TV, so if the books are that good I’m sure to like them too.
