New Author, New Ads, Old Problems

I’ve got some good news for you today. There’s a chance that the blog will be updating more often in the future. Yay!

Have I found more time to post? Have I suddenly become less lazy? Have I become more organized?

No, no and hell no.

Then what brings about this change?

New Author

FanaticSpace might be getting a new author. I’ll still be around, but I’ll have a little help. You will have more cool stuff to read, ponder and talk about with your friends. You know, the ones that look at you funny when you talk about your fandom. (That won’t happen here. You’re one of us…one of us…one of us…)

The news is even better if you’re a fan of the Sci Fi Channel’s Eureka. She wanted to start a Eureka blog, but I talked her into writing on FanaticSpace instead. That means even more Eureka coverage. I love the show and I’m looking forward to her posts.

Unlike me, she has some professional writing credits to back her up. Here are just a few of them.

New Ads

If you’ve stopped by FanaticSpace in the last few days you may have noticed the new ads. I signed up to shill t-shirts, but not just any t-shirts. Freakin’ Awesome t-shirts.

SplitReason and J!nx both have some really cool stuff. I enjoy just looking around on those sites. If you can’t find something you like there then what are you doin’ here? Seriously, let me know and I’ll try to find some stuff you would like. I’m a very helpful guy.

I’m trying out some of the ways to link to ‘em. Just to make sure it works. No more in the rest of the post, but you really should check ‘em out. Really.

Old Problems

Blog Problems

Not all the news is good. I’m still having some problems with the blog theme. I’m considering just switching over to a free theme and tweaking it for now. Buying a theme or hiring a designer isn’t an option right now. I don’t have the cash to drop on a custom made job. If you’d like to help out I would really appreciate it.

Forum Problems

I’ve heard that a few people have had trouble trying to sign up for the forums. They went through the registration and got the activation e-mail, but couldn’t activate the membership.

That has me stumped. The admin section isn’t showing any “inactive users”. There are only 2 things I can suggest. You could try to sign up again, or you could request another activation e-mail. Getting another e-mail is easy, just go to the forum login and click the link that says “Resend activation e-mail”.

Now would be a good time to sign up for the forums. We’ve got a book giveaway going on. You could win an autographed hardback copy of one of the Erec Rex books. Check out the book giveaway post to find out how to enter. The giveaway ends January 31, 2008.
