I’m a big fan of musicals, so I say bring on the songs! I actually never thought it might be a remake of something Joss has already done, but I knew there would be, as there was, much homage to stuff in the past. Whedonites love that, all the inside jokes.

I just watched ‘em and I think it would have been a lot better if 2 songs were cut. I know it’s a musical, but a couple of ‘em were unneeded.

I did enjoy it tremendously though. I’m glad it wasn’t just a remake of “Once More with Feeling” the way I feared it would be.
