Jane Badler as Diana

In an interview on EW.com Jane talks about her role in the sci-fi show’s reboot. While she’s at it she dishes out enough spoilers in 8 questions that you might not need to watch this season of V.

Sounds like a weird way to promote the show, but it got me interested again. I haven’t been interested in the new version of V since the second episode. I just could not get into it.

Jane Badler’s return may be enough to bring me back for another try. I would be interested to see how the character has changed.

AMC’s The Walking Dead had a short, but awesome, first season. Plenty of zombie action, with a side of real drama made The Walking Dead one of the best shows on TV. It’s gonna be tough waiting until October 2011, or thereabouts, to see where season 2 picks up. I’m dying to see where our group of survivors will go from here.

But let’s talk about Season 1…

The Walking Dead’s First Season

Season 1 of The Walking Dead focused pretty firmly on Rick Grimes, a southern deputy injured in the line of duty. We see a couple of scenes with Rick and his buddy, and fellow deputy, Shane before the world went to hell, but only enough to give us a small idea of what they were like in the good old days.

The world has changed, but have they? Was Rick this prone to seeking out danger? Was Shane an enormous ass-hat? We don’t really know. We can only guess at the differences of personality between what is and what might have been.

So far the only character that has been portrayed as a complete and total douche is Ed, other characters have had some small redemption. If not redemption, then at least a scene that stirs enough pity to offset their douche-baggery. (I’m lookin’ at you Merle.)

The zombies are great, and well done to boot. Sure, you can spot some zombie make-up here and there that just looks goofy, but even the movies with a decent budget has a few goofy looking background shamblers. AMC has more than made up for the undead extras who didn’t stay far enough in the background by showing us the disgustingly awesome stuff.

AMC has not pulled away from any graphic scene where I would expect them to. They’ve shown lots of splatter, blood, guts and brain matter. They’ve shown zombies feeding, and it’s aftermath in full gory detail. Kudos to AMC for having the balls, or should I say guts, to satisfy the gore-hounds.

The Walking Dead, Season 2 and Beyond

I believe The Walking Dead has room to get better. There seemed to be a few issues with the balance between drama and action in the first season. Season 2 will be even better if they can find, and maintain, the right balance of zombie action and character drama.

The Walking Dead follows in the footsteps of shows like Battlestar Galactica (2004), where a genre storyline was used as the setting for an excellent drama. Much like the plight of Galactica, the fate of humanity is questionable at best.

The characters of The Walking Dead don’t have the option of leaving their zombie filled planet behind to find one better suited to the living. All they can do is hang on and try to survive until someone, somewhere, finds a way to lay the dead to rest.

Bear McCreary,  one of my favorite sci-fi composers, already has a career that’s intergalactic (sorry, I couldn’t resist).  He’s been a busy guy.  You may remember him from the Eureka Season 2 Soundtrack, or his Battlestar Galactica soundtrack and symphony.  Now he’s receiving an earthbound nomination as well…

Bear’s been nominated for an Emmy “For Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music” for Fox’s recently renewed Human Target series.  Human Target is “loosely based” on the DC comic book character, of the same name.

The Human Target is Christopher Chance, currently played by Mark Valley(Fringe, Boston Legal, 4400). Chance’s job description reads like a combination of P.I. and Bodyguard.  Unlike his inked counterpart, this Chance does not assume his clients identities in order to prevent them from being killed, but rather someone close to them.  Chance first appeared in Action Comics #419 in 1972, and has been a recurring character in comics ever since.  This is the second time Human Target has been adapted for TV.  In 1992, Fox premiered the short-lived series with pop star Rick Springfield in the title role.

Bringing in an average of 60 musicians per episode, with 94 musicians for the season finale, makes this “the largest group of musicians to play on a live-action TV series in years” [Variety]  Up to 30 minutes of each one hour episode is accompanied by music.  If you haven’t seen the series, you can get a taste of how this works by viewing a full episode of Human Target.

McCreary’s uber  orchestral themes from the Human Target Season 1 finale episode are reminiscent of Bernard Herrmann (best known for his Hitchcock work) , as well as McCreary’s mentor, Elmer Bernstein,    but with a digimodernist’s sensibility, and not a little retro chutzpah.

If you aren’t an orchestral soundtrack fan, think of McCreary’s work not just as film score-ish, but akin to some TV shows of the 1960-70s, such as Bonanza (which was scored with a 34 piece orchestra). 

Series star Mark Valley (Christopher Chance) attended the finale recording session.    “I’m just really moved, and impressed with all of the effort that goes on here,” Valley said.  “I have got to say that I really love the music for the show.”  Valley even picked up a flugel horn and learned his character’s own theme.  You can see some video and hear soundtrack clips at Bear McCreary’s blogsite.

Bear McCreary was in the Canary Islands at FIMUCITE (Tenerife International Film Music Festival) , when he received news of the Emmy nomination:  “It’s an honor to be on a shortlist with so many wonderful composers,” said McCreary.  “There was some debate within the Academy earlier this year to eliminate this category, so I’m also pleased that it still exists.  There are still great Main Titles being written out there, and I’m glad people think Human Target is one of them.”

In addition to his Emmy nominated work for television, McCreary’s geektastic credits include Sony’s SOCOM 4,  Nintendo’s latest Dark Void and Dark Void Zero video games.

McCreary’s first theatrical feature film score will be featured in  Step Up 3D for Touchstone Pictures, in theaters on August 6, 2010.

SPOILER ALERT!

It’s time for Season 3.5 of Eureka: Eureka, the town that Global Dynamics built, affectionately called GD in the hamlet peopled by scientific eccentrics and iconoclasts.  It’s the town that we love to call home.

Flashback to Season 3:  When last seen, our beloved and much maligned Sheriff Carter was fired.  He helped Eva Thorne, the Fixer, to sneak out of town on a bus, after she shape-shifted into a most putrid stereotypical icon: the Corporate Hooker with a Heart of Gold.  I couldn’t bring myself to review the mid-season closer here on  Fanaticspace.  It was revealed that Eva Thorne was 107 years old. Surprise!  She was “A victim” too.”  The writers had two scripts nixed by the network, and were forced to write the script as they went along.  I had a little more sympathy after I read their explanation.  Still, the mid-season finale was a cop-out.  But enough!  Time to get over it.  Farewell, Eva.  Farewell Frances Fisher.  Farewell Sheriff Carter.  What?  Nah, we all knew they couldn’t actually say buh-bye to Carter.  Didn’t we?

Colin Ferguson does a brilliant job on Eureka as Sheriff Carter, no doubt about it.  His Everyman persona permeates the entire show, and that’s fine.  I personally would like to see a little more of the old Eureka style story threads with some juicy stuff for the rest of the ensemble cast.  But what do I know?

The Season 3.5 premiere episode, Welcome Back Carter has an obvious homage in its title.  It also introduces Sheriff Andy, Carter’s android replacement (played by Ty Olsson, no stranger to sci-fi).  That Andy is doomed to fail somehow at some point is obvious from the beginning.  This makes it no less entertaining to watch Sheriff Andy bumbling along on his less than Data, and more than A.I. fashion.

The scene in the Sheriff’s Office when we first meet Sheriff Andy is ideal, including Jo’s refusal to work for “a thing.”  She’s no Eurekan Barney Fife!  That would be Fargo, who compares the new Sheriff to a Furby, then steps up with a smile to shake hands with the DOD appointed droid.

With such a ripe garden for corny homage already set up, why didn’t they exploit it a little more?  Absurdity is common, even revered in Eureka; why not this time?  Ah, opportunities lost...

Dr. Fielding and Lexie are experimenting with a gravity reduction chamber for Lexie’s twin home birthing.   After an awkward handshake between the former Sheriff  and Fielding, we move on briskly with an emergency phone call.

Trees are falling.  That is, they have fallen and blocked the road, narrowly missing taking out Allison and her unborn.  Carter arrives on the scene before Sheriff Andy, and shields Allison from yet another falling tree.  Sheriff Andy takes over, and guilelessly investigates the “accident.”  Jack is officially shut out of the process, but continues to investigate, with the help of Jo and informants who defy federal law.

A convenient plant geneticist is circumstantially implicated for a little while.  The answer is not so simple as collateral damage from a science scion.  Instead, there’s plenty to interest us closet physics fans: tonight’s episode is about “gravity wells.”  Gravity wells, it seems, are popping up around Eureka.  Sheriff Andy is the target of specific gravity wells.  He endures two assassination attempts.  Carter is not amused.

What the heck is a gravity well, you might ask?  That’s part of the fun of Eureka.  Even if I weren’t going to completely geek out and smack myself in the head repeatedly to understand what it is, I could still enjoy the story with the thin explanation given on camera.  However, a quick perusal of the wikipedia page with high-flown formulas sent me to dig deeper. As an English speaker, I use my inferior parietal cortex (among other regions) to understand the math.   Sadly, my parietal cortex is more inferior than most.    I don’t entirely understand gravity wells, but this is a pretty simulation.

Doctor Fielding’s infant low gravity chamber seems to be the problem.  Fielding is duly called upon to fix his gravitational gaff.   This is going to be a typical “oops” episode, right?  Not this time.  After a botched attempt when everything is nearly FUBAR, Global Dynamics denizens discover that Fielding was not working alone.  Enter the cyber scientist, and Fielding’s mentor/crush, Marguerite Von Dieter.

Meanwhile, there are a few entertaining moments when Sheriff Andy’s databanks are scrambled after his catastrophic damage.  He scrambles names, and he speaks supposed Dutch.  It soon becomes apparent that SARAH is aka Marguerite Von Dieter.  She’s targeting Sheriff Andy to eliminate him, and keep Zoe and Jack around.  “I apologize, I let my artificial emotions get the best of me.”  You GO, GIRL.

Henry Deacon, not only the smartest man in Eureka, but also the Mayor, tells us: “Gravitational wells are coming together into a single massive event.  IF that happens, they will suck in any matter that comes close.”  Yes, indeed…a black hole.  Apparently, a black hole is like gravity well without a bottom.  Throw all the pennies in it that you want, and you might get your wish, but you’ll never see the pennies again.  Now imagine the west coast of the US as the pennies, and you get the idea.

SARAH admits, “I no longer have graviton guidance.   Doctor Fielding’s misguided attempt at a solution made the problem grow far beyond my control.”  It’s at this time that Henry further geekificates: “If these wells come together into a singularity, then evacuation won’t help.”

Carter, ever the cop, suggests, “If a bullet won’t work, how about a bomb?”

The roller coaster ride finally begins.  A graviton pulse explosion is required to return to normal gravity. Overloading a tensor field is apparently just the ticket.  Are your eyes crossed yet?  No fear.  A tensor field is essentially expansion and compression.  Hence Zoe’s nearly gleeful, “If you overloaded the tensor field, it could make a wicked gravity bomb”

Carter is ready to go, but Henry exclaims,  “Birds will be hitting the ground like cannonballs.”  Everyone assumes Sheriff Andy will come to the rescue of Mayberry, uh, Eureka, but it’s not to be.  Sheriff Andy’s Eureka database tells him that he’s not required to participate because it’s 93% likely he’ll be destroyed in the process.

Carter thinks those aren’t bad odds for Eureka, and Dudley Do-Rights it into Fielding’s lab, where all the little gravity wells are coalescing into one big ‘un.  A gravitational well takes the extra power source battery in Carter’s hands and weighs it down until it is dropped.  Carter can’t move because he effectively weighs many hundreds of pounds now, and yet his internal organs don’t collapse.  Amazing.  Sheriff Andy rides in like a toaster, and with A.I. feeling, saves the day, despite the risk to his person, um, cabinet, uh, housing.  Whatever, anyway, the two are blown back not quite to Kingdom Come, but near there, and Eureka is safe once again.

Sheriff Andy ends up riding his blender into the sunset, but not before helping Mayor Henry Deacon to reinstate Carter, who was terminated against the rules of Eureka’s charter.  I’d like to see Sheriff Andy return to Eureka again.   Deputy Lupo returns to duty, despite being unfairly bypassed by man and machine, and status quo is status in Eureka…EXCEPT that there is a signal coming from the outer limits in space, beyond the final frontier, and it’s headed straight for Eureka.

There are plans for yet another love interest for Carter in the person of Dr. Tess Fontana.  It’s generally thought that Allison can’t have a love life while pregnant with her dead husband’s progeny.  (Yes, she was really pregnant during the filming.)  Stark is now a vampire on another network, so he won’t be coming back to Eureka this season.   That wraps it up for this time, and my TV hometown is asleep in Warehouse 13 for another week.

Wait, wait, excuse me!  If SARAH was targeting Sheriff Andy, and so no one else was in danger until after Fielding’s botched Mr. Fixit attempt, WHY DID THE TREES NEARLY GET ALLISON?  Hellooooo, can anybody hear me?  Hello?

Watch Dollhouse: Dollhouse – The Target

Dollhouse is not Buffy. It’s not Buffy, it’s not Angel, it’s not Firefly. It’s definitely not Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. It’s just not.

My point is this, Dollhouse is its very own self. I enjoyed the second episode, “The Target” even more than I did the first episode. From what I’ve heard about the next several episodes, the show is going to get even better. Honestly, what show doesn’t get better as it goes along, as the characters grow and change and learn to relate to themselves and each other better. That’s what makes us fall in love with a show, makes us look forward to watching each and every week, makes us fans.

Personally, as I’m watching, even from the very beginning, as I watch the beginning credits roll, I get a warm and fuzzy feeling. I see all those names, all the names of people who I’ve come to know and love over the past several years. All the people who make the Whedonverse what it is. This episode was written and directed by Stephen S. DeKnight. A name well known to Whedonites (or should that be Whedonuts?) along with other names, both cast and crew, Amy Acker, Mark A. Sheppard, Tim Minear, David Solomon, Kelly A. Manners. The ending credits include names like Elizabeth Craft, Sarah Fain, Anya Colloff, Amy McIntyre Britt, Shawna Trpcic, David A. Koneff, Leonard Harman, Stuart Blatt, Scott Workman. There’s more, too. If you’ve seen all the episodes of Buffy, Angel and Firefly as much as I have, you begin to recognize the names of all the people involved, even the stuntmen. The final little pièce de résistance for me, is the Grrrr Arrgh as the Mutant Enemy logo wanders across my screen. Man, I love that logo.

Then as you watch the show, even though the feel of it, the tempo, the movement is different than what we’ve known from Joss before, you hear the spoken words, and then you know it’s Joss. Topher (Fran Kranz) has some great lines: “You’re in the middle of why would anyone want to be there.” “We have a situation. The kind you need to shoot at.” Or this exchange between Topher and Boyd: “What’s the magic word?” “Please.” “I was actually looking for abracadabra.”

In this week’s episode, we got a glimpse into some of the characters in the Dollhouse, most specifically, Echo’s (Eliza Dushku) handler Boyd Langdon (Harry Lennix). We see, through a series of flashbacks, as Boyd first arrives at the Dollhouse and how his relationship with Echo grows. Not only her trusting him, because they’ve “made” her that way, but him trusting her. Just lovely.

Look, most of my Joss show reviews are pretty much, “Yay, Joss, I love you. You’re awesome. You go, girl!” So maybe mine isn’t the most objective voice. But my bottom line is, I trust Joss Whedon and I know that if this show is given the time, both by the audience and by the network, he’s going to make it into something awesome. Cause that’s just what he does.

First of all, let me apologize. I haven’t been around for a while and all I can say is that life got in the way. But so much fun stuff has been happening in the Whedonverse and I just need to share. You’ve probably heard, but in case you haven’t, Joss has a new show, Dollhouse, which just premiered on Friday, February 13 at 9 pm on Fox. Each week, I’m going to be reviewing and/or recapping the eps. If you missed it on Friday, you can still watch the ep on Hulu.

Red Dwarf, the wonderfully funny British science fiction television show, is about to be resurrected for a new two-part episode by the British television channel Dave.  The digital cable channel is already home to much loved favorites like Red Dwarf, Coupling, The Catherine Tate Show, The Young Ones and many, many others.  This new episode is original programming that will air in the UK on April 10, 2009.  It will include the two-part episode as well as two other specials, including a making of video.

Red Dwarf: Back To Earth is written and directed by the co-creator of the original Red Dwarf, Doug Naylor.  It will not only continue the story of Dave Lister and his wacky group of companions, but it will reunite the original cast members, including Craig Charles (Lister), Chris Barrie (Rimmer), Robert Llewellyn(Kryten) and Danny John-Jules (Cat).  The story will take our ragged band back to Earth, an aspect never fully explored in the original series.  Lister was always trying but never quite made it back home, except in his mind. 

For those of you who don’t remember, or haven’t had the delightful privilege of watching an episode of Red Dwarf, it was a campy science fiction/comedy show that aired from 1988 to 1999 in Great Britain.  It featured the adventures of Dave Lister, literally the last human in the universe, trapped aboard the mining ship Red Dwarf.  An accident lands him in suspended animation, while a radiation leak kills everyone else on board.  He remains there for three million years until the shipboard computer decides it’s safe to awaken him.  Lister, formerly a lazy, low-ranking technician who liked nothing better than to have a beer and a smoke with his buddies, soon realizes that he’s not alone on the ship.  First, he discovers Cat, a vain catlike human that evolved over the millenium from Lister’s former pet cat Frankenstein.  To assist him, the ship’s computer resurrects a hologram of his former roommate, the smug, over-bearing Arnold Rimmer.  Finally, he encounters Kryten, a slightly neurotic robotic servant.  Together, this motley group limp their way across the universe as Lister tries to find a way back home.   The hilarious humor that ensues from their adventures is British comedy at it’s best and as a result the show has developed a near cult-like following.

I realize that to those of us not living in the UK, this may sound like bittersweet news but rest assured that this special episode and it’s extras should make their way to DVD shortly after airing.  As for myself, I will be anxiously awaiting it.

As late as it is I decided to go ahead and post this Heroes recap. At least one of my theories for this season bit the dust. Though I still hold out hope for the Adam Monroe/Claire Bennet bloodline theory.

Spoiler Warning: There are spoilers ahead. This is an episode recap after all.

Tracy Strauss…

…isn’t Nikki

That’s right. We found out that Nikki really did die and we even saw a body. So Tracy isn’t crazy. She also isn’t Nikki. We know this because Tracy went to the address in New Orleans that she found when looking for this woman named Nikki who looks like her. When she got there she found a funeral, Nikki’s funeral.

That means one of my theories gets thrown out. Make that 2 theories…

The freezing was her power, we see her use it again in this episode. I’m still not convinced that’s the last we’ll see of William Katt, but that could just be wishful thinking.

Nikki may be gone, but it seems there could be a good storyline to explain why Ali Larter is still on the show after her character died.

It seems Tracy and Nikki were born in the same hospital on the same day and delivered by the same doctor. When Tracy goes to see the doctor, he thinks she’s someone else. When she corrects him and tells him her name, he seems to know her. When she asks about that he replies “Know you? I created you.”. So maybe we can expect a spin-off of Heroes where the entire super team is made up of Ali Larter.

One can only hope. (and maybe write fan fic)

Matt Parkman

Looks like Matt’s story is going to be getting more interesting. When Future-Peter first sent him to Africa to cover up being the one to shoot Nathan, I figured Mat would do some walking and catch a flight back, maybe arriving in time for some new plot twist. Wow, I was wrong about that too.

The guy that finds Matt (can we call him Travelling Matt now?) turns out to be a painter, like Issac. Also like Issac, he paints the future. Unlike Issac, his power seems to be focused on Matt’s life, whereas Issac seemed to be focused on moments of extreme danger.

He brings Matt to an area covered with paintings of moments in Matt’s life. Only thing is, some of those moments haven’t happened yet.

Matt decides to try this for himself. The guy (what’s his name?) gives Matt something to eat, let’s Matt borrow his walkman and Matts eyes cloud over just like Issac’s.

Looks like Mohinder could learn a few things about inducing powers.

Claire and Her Two Moms

A power struggle went on between Claire’s real mom and her biological mom. In the end they seemed to come to a, probably temporary, truce. This was after Miss Hot Pants tortured her invulnerable daughter until she agreed not to run off and get fitted for her cape. Of course, it was also before Claire stole her dad’s secret files and ran off, in her cheerleader uniform, to be a Hero anyway.

Noah and Syler

Mama Petrelli tells Syler that he’s her son and convinces him to go help his brother Peter. Oh, and to do that he’ll need a partner. Hmmmm… Looks like Noah Bennet is available.

Noah tries to keep Syler under control, but things go wrong. After Peter stops the bank robbery being committed by the escaped Villains, then disappears with Future-Peter, Syler eats Jessie. (And yes, I know Syler doesn’t eat ‘em.) Good thing Peter got out of that body already.

Peter Petrelli (x2)

After being dragged along with the escaped Villains Peter is discovered during a bank robbery. After beating the crap out of Peter the escapees turn their attention to Noah, who got himself captured. That’s when Peter discovers Jesse’s abilities, a sonic scream.

Before Peter can use it to save Noah, Future-Peter shows up stops time and snatches Peter away.

Hiro and Ando

Hiro and Ando track down Daphne the speedster, but she’s already sold Kaito’s half of the formula. There’s still a chance, because she’s looking to steal the other half now. She plans to take it during an exchange at a movie theater, but for some reason her powers stop working. That’s right before The Haitian walks in carrying a case.

Hiro, Ando and Daphne keep an eye on him. While they’re doing that, she take the time to drive a wedge between Hiro and Ando. She does it by calling Ando “…Robin to his (Hiro’s) Batman”. Nobody likes that. It probably even bugs Robin.

In the end, Daphne gets the formula while Hiro and Ando get caught by The Company.

FanaticSpace - Everyone loves something.

The third season of Heroes started off with some surprising twists last night. Several are going to take a lot of explaining. While others may only need to be viewed from a different angle for their secrets to be laid bare.

I’m going to take a little time and look at a few of the questions that were raised, at least in my mind, by the 2 episodes last night. I’ll try to go into what I think of it now, and where I think it might lead. I doubt I’ll come up with anything on par with the Kensei Prediction, but we can have a little bit of fun talking about what might happen. Let’s get started.

What’s up with Ando and Hiro?

Ok, that’s a blanket question because there are a few questions about the pair that all lead back to the same thing.

What did Hiro really see?

Was that Future-Ando and Future-Hiro that Hiro saw?

We know there are gifted people that can change how they look (We didn’t know about the robots though, thanks for the tip Ando.), so that may not be Ando… or even Hiro.

What did Future-Ando do to Future-Hiro?

What was that? It almost looked like a Chi attack from Dragonball Z, maybe not the Kamehameha Wave, but something similar, if smaller in scale. Was that a killing blow or just a knock-out? I don’t believe Ando would hurt Hiro if he could help it. I do think that Ando would knock him cold if by doing so it would help Hiro or protect him.

Is Ando one of the gifted?

This one I’m very interested to find out the answer to. Ando could be gifted with a power that hasn’t fully developed yet. He could be a late bloomer like Hiro. He could also have artificial or temporary powers thanks to Mohinder’s research.

What’s up with Mohinder?

Has Mohinder found the source of the powers?

I doubt it. He may have found the source of Maya Herrera’s powers, and others like her, but I really doubt that all the powers possessed by all the gifted are a fight or flight response. If that were the case then some other questions need answers.

• Why does Hiro have to concentrate so hard to use his power?
• How can Claire, Adam and Peter heal when they’re unconscious or even dead?

Those can’t be explained as a fight or flight response.

I believe Mohinder found an explanation of one set, or even one type, of powers. He’s a long way from finding an explanation for all of ‘em. I think he may be a long way from even understanding a lot of things.

What’s up with Nikki?

This is probably the strangest part of the show so far this season. Nikki shows up without Michah and has no clue who Nikki is. This time she’s Tracy Strauss. This raises several questions.

Is Tracy really Nikki?

I think so. I think this is just another one of her personalities. It would be pretty darn interesting if she wasn’t.

Where’s Michah?

I got no clue, but I’d be pretty disappointed if that’s the big mystery this season. I like the kid, but that’s just lame.

Woah! Did she just freeze that dude?

Ok, this looks interesting. Maybe all of Nikki’s different personalities have different powers. That would be pretty cool. I don’t think that’s what it is though.

Why?

I don’t think she did it. I think that was his power. Why would he do that though. Is he working for someone, the company maybe? I think we’ll be seeing more of him.

Oh, and when he froze, did anyone else think “Look at what’s happened to me. I can’t believe it myself.“?

No?

Moving on…

What’s up with Peter?

Ok, let’s wrap this up with the character that seems to have caused the problems this time around. Peter, or more specifically Future-Peter, who I’m tempted to call Bishop for some reason.

Can the damage Future-Peter caused be undone?

Ummmm… Doubtful. If he tries he’s likely to make things worse. That’s kind of how these things go.

Should he stay out of things now that he realizes his mistake?

The damage to the future is done. He’s now living in an alternate timeline where events are quickly diverging from the “history” he knows. He can’t use his knowledge of events because he no longer has that kind of knowledge.

To put it simply…

Now that he’s altered the future so radically, he poses no more of a danger to the future than anyone else. Now he’s just another dude with super powers.

FanaticSpace - Everyone loves something.

I’m looking forward to Monday nights in front of the TV. Two of my favorite shows are coming back tonight. Both Heroes and The Big Bang Theory are making their season premiers tonight. Even better, it looks like they might not be on at the same time, at least after tonight. Heroes has a Lost-type checklist show starting at 8pm, the same time that Big Bang Theory is on. As long as the shows don’t change time slots, and the Heroes pre-game show isn’t a regular event, then my Monday night TV schedule is conflict free.

Heroes/Villains

Heroes will be introducing quite a few new characters this season. We’ll see characters from the comics and probably some introductions of entirely new characters. With the season focused on the villains, this season has a lot of promise.

Debbie over at WatchingHeroes.com posted an interview Ken Lally, the actor who will be playing “The German”, one of the villains we’ll be seeing this season. He was pretty tight lipped about what’s coming, but even the tiny hints he let slip make this season sound like a winner. Check out the interview and you’ll see what I mean. This bit for example…

I got to coach one of the other actors who’s a martial artist but doesn’t do stunts…on how to make it look right for the camera and how to adjust his speed, because he was just too fast. The other actor was just a really skilled martial artist but was so fast, I was like, “Hey you gotta slow it down or the camera’s not gonna catch it.”

Any guesses who the very fast martial artist cast member is? I’m curious about that one.
